TEACHING
Rebeca enjoys teaching highly motivated students who are considering a career in music.Â
Having experienced both the European and American approaches to teaching, Rebeca has developed a pedagogical method that combines the best of both. In her teaching, she unites the technical rigor she learned as a child in Romania with the innovation and artistic individualism of American academia. Rebeca has also studied flute pedagogy and flute repertoire under Gary Woodward, former Los Angeles Opera principal flute.
Rebeca's quest as a flute instructor is to instill a love for music as an art into her students. Aside from learning an instrument, she emphasizes having an understanding of music both conceptually (left-brain) and emotionally (right-brain). Additionally, through the process of music-making, Rebeca's goal is to help her students attain virtues that they will carry on for a lifetime (such as patience, persistence, delayed gratification, humility, confidence, and originality).
A firm believer in performance as a learned skill, she organizes bi-annual studio recitals where her students of all ages and abilities perform for each other. Rebeca teaches in-home lessons in the Greenville area, SC.
